Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 23, 2025

Welcome to Automenu!

This Accessibility Statement explains the measures Automenu Inc. takes to ensure our website, automenu.com, and services are accessible to people with disabilities. This statement also provides information on how to contact us if you encounter any accessibility barriers.

Our Accessibility Goal 🎯

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provides a framework for making web content more accessible. It provides three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Our goal is for Automenu to be conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Currently, Automenu is partially conformant, which means some parts of our platform don't fully meet the standard yet. Our team is actively working to identify and fix these issues to ensure our products and services are accessible to all.

How We Support Accessibility

Automenu relies on standard web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA to work seamlessly with a wide range of web browsers and assistive technologies.

Key Accessibility Features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All of our features can be accessed using a keyboard.
  • Text Alternatives: We provide text alternatives (alt text) for important non-text content, like icons and images.
  • Adaptable Content: Our content is structured to be presented in different ways (e.g., by screen readers) without losing meaning.
  • Clear & Distinguishable: We focus on making content easy to see and hear by using clear fonts and ensuring good contrast between text and its background.
  • Resizable Text: You can zoom in and increase text size up to 200% without breaking the layout or losing functionality.

Using Your Device's Built-in Tools

Automenu is designed to be compatible with common assistive technologies. For the best experience, we recommend using the latest versions of your browser and screen reader. You can also use your operating system's built-in accessibility features:

  • MacOS: VoiceOver, Zoom, Dictation, Switch Control
  • Windows: Narrator, Magnifier, Speech Recognition
  • iOS: VoiceOver, Zoom, Switch Control
  • Android: TalkBack, Magnification, Switch Access

Please consult your device or operating system's documentation for instructions on how to use these features.

Known Limitations & Our Efforts

Despite our best efforts, some limitations may exist. Here are a few known issues we are working to address:

  • User-Uploaded Content: Restaurant partners can upload their own content. Images they upload may not have descriptive text alternatives if they haven't added them. We provide our partners with the tools and guidance to make their content accessible.
  • Older Documents: Some older PDF documents, like menus uploaded by restaurants, may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
  • Third-Party Themes: Some theme colors or custom branding chosen by a restaurant partner may not have sufficient color contrast.

We are continuously developing solutions and providing better tools for our partners to address these issues.

Our Partners and Third-Party Sites

This statement covers the core Automenu platform and the websites we build for our restaurant partners. However, it's important to understand the following:

  • Restaurant Responsibility: Restaurant owners are responsible for the content they add to their sites, such as providing alt text for menu item photos and ensuring any custom code they add is accessible. We strongly encourage our partners to follow accessibility best practices.
  • Third-Party Integrations: Our platform may link to or integrate with third-party applications (e.g., online payment gateways). We cannot guarantee the accessibility of these services, as they are outside our control. We recommend reviewing their individual accessibility statements.

Feedback and Support 🤝

We welcome your feedback! If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using an Automenu-powered site, please let us know.

We aim to respond to feedback within 3 business days and propose a solution within 10 business days. For emails, the date of receipt will be deemed the date on which such email is received.

Our Commitment to Improvement

Automenu uses a combination of self-evaluation and external feedback to assess and improve the accessibility of our platform. We are committed to an ongoing process of improvement to ensure we provide an excellent experience for all users.
